Lampshade Lattice

Design in OpenSCAD

This shape was generated from an algorithm that starts with a vector sum of angles that is used to generate a spiral ribbing pattern. From this, I obtain the vertices, plot faces on them, and then generate a 3D shape on these faces to create the structure. From there all that is left is the base and cutting out a hole through the top to make room for the tea light.

A further requirement was keeping down cost, which was checked with Shapeways.
